Japanese Style Chicken Rice

Eggplant dumplings

A Japanese restaurant near Peninsula Centre, Mody Road. In general food is satisfactory, normally I am not a big fan of eggplant, but surprisingly this eggplant dumplings did give me surprise. Firstly, I thought its a tempura but once I bite it in half, it is surprisingly delicious, the eggplant is not soggy nor oily at all.

Grand Central Bar & Grill , Elements . Happy hour with friends. Massive portion. Nice french fries and nice place to chill with friends. 
I would prefer to sit on the sofa instead of stool, especially if you are not very good at drinking be careful of sitting on the stool.

Chai Siu Rice Roll / Changfen (叉燒腸粉)
Chicken Congee ( 雞粥)

Supreme Soy Sauce Fried Noodles (豉油皇炒麵)


Dinner after movie - Captain Phillips, great movie have to watch it. I wanted something not too heavy so I decided to have congee. I always want to explore those little shops/restaurants near Austin station, this time I picked a Chinese restaurant which does congee, Supreme Soy Sauce Fried Noodles (豉油皇炒麵) and Rice Roll / Changfen (腸粉).
I love their Changfen (腸粉), it is very thin yet it 'can holds' a lot of ingredients inside. 
The base of the congee is very soft. We had ordered chicken congee, the chicken is very tender and full of flavor. 
I also ordered a dish of Chicken Wings in Swiss Sauce (瑞士汁雞翅), don't get it wrong by its name. It is nothing related to Swiss at all, it is a dish of "sweetened soy sauce chicken wings". It is not difficult to cook, BUT I would not say it is EASY either. As everybody has different taste of sweetness, it is hard to find a sauce that suit you perfectly. For example, everybody has different taste of coffee, some like bitter some like sweet, some like black some like flat. But one ground rule - could not use expire / deteriorate coffee beans.
